Maloof Style Rocking Chair

 The satisfaction that comes in designing and making furniture from a rough piece of wood into a complete and useful object is what inspired me to build this perfect combination of beauty and comfort. The sculpted headrest and seat paired with finely executed joinery to the long graceful rockers draws you to the natural beauty of the American Black Walnut. The form of this rocker melds together into one organic structure. Sam Maloof often used details of texture for tactile sensation in his other projects, but not his rocker. In respectful tribute to Sam I've scooped and textured handgrips on the under side of the armrests. I would love to make one for you.
